It’s the seventh day of the Creative Christmas so skilfully put together by Later Levels! All the details of this Christmassy Q&A are here, so why not get involved?
Our question for today is…
‘Your help must have worked [remember last time we were helping Santa sort out his delivery problems!], because it’s now Christmas morning and presents are under the tree! There’s a fancy box with your name on it; which gaming-related item are you hoping is inside?’
Well, this is an interesting one. It is, you might have noticed, after Christmas now, but I’m writing this on the 21st, so I don’t yet know what I’ve actually got, though I will of course know by the time this article goes up. (I’m being very organised by writing all my answers ahead of time and scheduling the posts!)
Now, I happen to know that for either Christmas or my birthday (which is in January), I’m getting a SNES Classic Mini, which excites me beyond words! If I were to think about my dream items from video games, though, that’s another question!
So here’s what I’d really like for Christmas: a set of weapons and gadgets from the Ratchet & Clank games. Rocket launcher? Sorted. Jetpack? Heck, yeah. Gun that turns your enemies into exploding sheep/ ducks/ gnomes? WHY NOT.
The only thing we’re missing is a dubstep gun, but R&C even has an alternative to that in the form of the Groovitron, a handy little thingumebob which shoots out tiny disco balls, compelling all your foes to dance. It even works on bosses, who tend to have their own special animations, and while they’re getting down you’ve got a good few seconds to hit them for free, massive damage.
If I found that under the tree, I’d be a happy man. It even all disappears into a fancy hyperspace inventory, so I don’t have to carry it around!
You can mod the mini, too! There’s apparently some $13 item that lets you put more games onto it o.O

I need a Groovitron. Boring meeting at work? Shoot a disco ball and liven up that presentation at once!
