Hey, friends!
Been a while, huh?
I’ve still been hanging out on the internet as usual, but I really haven’t done anything on OverThinker Y for… well, ages. And, to the disappointment of probably maybe about two people, that is how things are gonna continue to be. I might still post odd thoughts here if the mood strikes me, and if there are any community events going on in the games blogging world then I may well use this old blog to take part, because those things are awesome.
Other than that, though, I think it’s probably safest to say that you can expect near-total silence from overthinkeryblog.com.
But hey, as one door closes, another one opens. This little thing might be lapsing into inactivity, but there’s a good and exciting reason for that.
I’m shifting my focus; I’ve spent a while doing games writing and that sort of thing, but the thing I’ve always really wanted to do is write novels. And, well, I’ve gone and done that. I mean, that’s no secret; I’ve talked about it here before, probably more than anyone really wanted me to.
Now, though, I’m branching out into taking that sort of seriously. Whooooaaaaaa.
Each Little Universe (the third iteration of a novel some of you may have known as Stargirl) is my first novel and it is going to be releasing for you to buy and read on April 30th, 2020. You’ll be able to get it as an ebook or a paperback via Amazon, and I’ll be giving away some signed paperback copies and everything. (I’ll drop the Amazon link in here when it’s available.)
Now, for the purposes of having a… perhaps slightly more professional (not that OverThinker Y ever wasn’t… oh, wait, it really wasn’t) way of telling the world about ELU and other things I’m getting up to, I have a new website. So while I won’t be posting much here any more, if at all, you’ll be able to stay up to date with all the stuff I’m doing at chrisdurston.com.
One more time for those at the back: chrisdurston.com is now where it’s at for all creative endeavours by the chap formerly known as OverThinker Y. It’s a WordPress site, so you can follow it in all the same ways as you can this one – or, if you’re really keen, you can even sign up (using the form on the home page) to get emails from me via, like, an actual proper mailing list and that.
Here’s a first blog post there, to get you started.
You can also follow me on Twitter, if you’re not already, or the brand-new Chris Durston Does Words page on Facebook.
Oh, and while I’m here, big props to Blythe Norton for creating the incredible cover image you’ll hopefully have already spotted and which you’ll see on the ebook and/or paperback when you buy it, which I’m sure you will do.
I think that’s all I need to say for now, except to say thank you to everyone who’s been part of my life via OverThinker Y and all the other Internetty endeavours. A lot of you are really, really cool people and a lot of you are genuine friends, so thank you very much for all the awesomeness so far and I hope it continues for a really long time!
This is not goodbye, this is starting over… except it’s not even that, really, I am still here same as ever, just in a different place! Hope to see you there.
Much love.
(thought I’d comment here too, for posterity) Good luck with all these awesome new things, I know you will absolutely kill it x
